10 Ways to have a Better Year

I’m back with another blog post about ways to have a better year!

As we all know, 2016 has just arrived and most of us are thinking about New Year’s Resolutions. I’m not really the type to make like very specific promises to myself because I’m just afraid that I won’t keep them. But in my mind, I subconsciously make an effort to be more positive.

2016 is definitely a CLEAN SLATE for everyone, so if you have any negative things going on in your life, it’s time for a different perspective this year. To help you with that, here are my top 10 tips for a better you:

Put little of pieces of paper and pictures in your journal
  1. Write in a Journal

This is my first tip because I do this myself. I love writing in my journal because (1) it serves as my planner, (2) it’s kind of therapeutic, and (3) it’s fun to look at the memories when I look back at what I’ve written. Writing down what happened, especially if it’s something exciting, to me at the end of the day is very relaxing.

Your journal doesn’t have to just consist of words. I personally like it when there are drawings, doodles, color, and a lot of pictures of mine. I often print out pictures and put the date on the bottom so that I know when that picture actually occurred.

At the end of the year, you can look back at all of the things you’ve done and accomplished throughout the year.

2. Be Organized

This is definitely something I struggle with. πŸ™‚

But, it certainly helps to declutter your life. Being organized will really help you focus more as you won’t be stressed at that humongous pile of clothes in the corner and will help you let go of the things you don’t need. You can give these things to your friends and family, sell them, or donate these things to charity.

3. Be Inspired

This 2016, I want to stay motivated and inspired to do the things I love to do. I encourage you to do the same as it helps you to do more things in the time that you have, stay positive each and every day, and basically love your life.

My tip is to go through Pinterest. You can find a ton of inspiration from there as it encompasses a lot of subject matter. I like to go through and follow boards relating to fashion, illustrations, skincare, and even makeup.

4. Have a fitness goal

I think it is important to have a fitness goal, not necessarily for weight loss or to become thinner (because LOVE YOUR BODY y’ know?), but for overall well-being. Having a healthy lifestyle just makes you a more positive person because you feel good inside as well. And if you feel good inside, then it will be reflected on the outside. πŸ™‚ Not to mention, you’ll be able to prevent sicknesses and illnesses!

5. Surround Yourself with Positive People

Throughout your life, you might encounter certain people or situations that may be a little toxic for you and cause you to do things that just hinder your own growth and ultimately lead you to do terribleΒ things. This year, maybe it’s time for a better year by letting go of the negative things that stop you from reaching your own happiness, and surround yourself with a better atmosphere by being around people who encourage you to be better and to be more YOU!

6. Go on an Adventure

See the world, guys! Meet new people! Taste the cuisine!

Whether it’s out of the country or just a few kilometers away, go out and have fun! You can either take a solo trip for some alone time and self-realization or you can invite your friends to a fun roadtrip. The world is just SO big and so diverse, and it’s definitely fun to discover new things that may surprise you.



7. Try New Things

Whether it’s a new dish, a new place, or a new hobby, take the risk and TRY IT OUT. It doesn’t matter if in the end you liked it or not; what matters is that you tried and discovered something new. Like they said, you’ll never know unless you try, right? Who knows, you might even discover something new about yourself!




8. Let Go

Let go of the things that stop you from achieving your dreams. Let go of the negative emotions that lived in your heart for so long. Let go of your insecurities. Let go of the things that hurt you.

It won’t be easy. But START.



9. Take More Pictures

As a very sentimental girl, I encourage all of you to TAKE PICTURES. If it’s a casual get together, take a picture. If it’s a beautiful view of the sunset, take a picture. Record your life in pictures, everyone! But don’t forget to live in the moment.



10. Be More Grateful

Last but certainly not the least, is BE GRATEFUL. Often we forget how lucky we are and then take things for granted. It’s easy to think that life becomes unfair to us sometimes, but the truth is, we all have something to be thankful for. Say thank you to someone who has just done something for you. Say thank you to your friends who are always there for you. Say thank you to your family who never fails to love you.

Be thankful that you’re alive and well. Be thankful that you are loved.
